APPLICATIONS:
C MountThe DXC-S500 is a color digital camera which adopts C mount lens. By adopting a standard mount in the industrial field, the DXC-S500 can be attached on various microscope and C mount lenses.
MedicalPerfect for medical applications.
CCD Cooling SystemPeltier cooling devices cool down the surface temperature on chip CCD and minimize noise. Also thanks to voltage temperature control by thermo module, the temperature around CCD is kept as 5°C (in the case of 25°C room temperature).
Long Term Exposure ShootingEven when shooting dark object or in the dark light condition, frame memory storage function supports high sensitivity image capturing. Maximum 60-second long term exposure is possible.
IEEE 1394 InterfaceIEEE1394 (400Mbps) interface enables direct connection with various PC or 1394 boards. Also Hot plug-in realizes easy connection with PC.
Analog Video OutputOutput signals for Monitor are VBS output from BNC terminal and Y/C signal from S terminal. Since live monitoring supports VGA size (640 x 480) at the speed of 30fps (NTSC) / 25fps (PAL), image adjustment is very easy. Switching of video signal system, NTSC or PAL can be done by a switch on the rear panel.
Card SlotThe DXC-S500 supports PC card bus of PCMCIA-ATA Type II. Therefore by using PC card adopter, captured images can be stored into Memory Stick, Compact Flash or Smart Media. Also by using removable HDD, large volume of image storage is possible.
LCD MonitorThe CCU incorporates 3.5 inch 200,000 pixels TFT color LCD monitor made from low temperature poly-silicon. It realizes excellent operability. Live image monitoring, playback of recorded images, index, and menu setting are displayed.
TWAIN DriverThanks to a supplied original TWAIN driver, the DXC-S500 is applicable to various application software. It displays camera live images on PC application window and users can capture images by mouse.
Index PreviewIndex display can preview 10 thumbnail images with the prescribed format of the images recorded in a PC card, by pushing "Index" key on the CCU panel during "PLAY" or "LIVE" display. Thanks to this thumbnail preview, users can do the check, playback and erasing of stored images easily.
HistogramThanks to DSP technology, a histogram that shows luminance distribution of image can be displayed on the LCD monitor at shooting. Users can use it to see the exposure condition. The horizontal axis represents the brightness and the vertical axis represents the luminance distribution. Generally the indication huddles in the right with overexposure and in the left with underexposure.
Image CapturingThe image size for capturing is selectable among the following three kinds. - Full: 2560 x 1920 - SXGA: 1280 x 960 - VGA: 640 x 480 Also the captured images of each size can be stored with non-compression (TIFF) or compression (3 modes of JPEG) as below.
Auto ExposureThe Auto Exposure is a very useful function which controls brightness automatically. The DXC-S500 outputs proper brightness of images by the combination with Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and auto shutter speed control.
